Top tier …. WOW!! This is a big (and I mean BIG in body and personality!) and beautiful filly …. Her substance alone leaves your jaw on the ground! She isn’t one that “has” to retire but if we find her a second home they will let her move on into something else. Now you might look at her and see a plain bay but this girl is a dappled beauty in the summertime and is really going to stand out on her own without any white needed. Her pedigree scream sport horse along with her build and movement I think she’ll shine bright in any show ring …. Just wait til you see her under saddle racing video! She is the type that I would jump on personally if I needed another horse for myself. She was digging in my pockets for peppermints, while making sure her face was in contact with mine for all the kisses I could give to her …. When I say her personality is amazing…. I mean it is next level AMAZING and probably one of the sweetest mares you will EVER meet!! I could go on and on and on about her cuddles and her desire for attention and how sweet she is even with her massive size she was like a little cute and snuggly puppy dog …. She is going to be a force in the show world!! Her connections state she isn’t a known cribber but I have to note that I did see her slightly crib after she had a mint but I have not see her do it at any other time and we are in the same barn half of the year with this connection. Some Tips on Buying Directly Off the Track with Stoney Hollow Stables:
- Amy, Stacey and Stoney Hollow Stables are the ONLY contact for ALL Listings posted with us. Do NOT contact Owners and/or Trainers directly unless otherwise arranged. They have us list the horses and handle ALL aspects of the sales for a reason. Please be respectful of this!!
- Trainer/Owners decide the horses asking price. Please know that these horses are broke to walk/trot/canter/gallop/lead changes. Some have lateral work and they have been around bikes, golf carts, cars, etc. while at the track. Thousands of dollars in training go into these horses before they ever even race.
- Listing do NOT come with Vet Records. And Listings do NOT come with current set of X-rays. If there is a known injury and X-rays are available it will be stated in the Sales Ad.
- There is NO option to lunge or get a free movement/free jump video. Horses are sold off of an inhand jog video and pictures. If any additional videos besides an inhand jog video are available it will be stated in the sales ad. We do NOT typically get multiple videos per listing. Majority of OTTB Sales are Sold with just an in-hand Video and Pictures.
- Sale horse prices are NOT reduced because you are not local and have to pay for shipping. Not to say that sometimes prices aren't negotiable (because an owner accepts an offer) but please know that just because they raced they aren't "throwaways" and still have tons of value to go on into a second career. If you are going to make an offer: First, be realistic and fair in your offer. Second, please be 100% prepared to move forward with the sale to purchase if your offer is accepted. We will not negotiate with an owner if you aren't committed to purchase the horse at your offer price.
- Horses listed are still located at the track or their track owner/trainer farm. They are not located at Stoney Hollow Stables or restarted unless otherwise stated in the ad.
- All Horses listed are sold as Potential Prospects. We cannot guarantee any horse into any specific discipline upon leaving the track. Many signs (build, movement, Pedigree, etc.) can point towards a specific second career but unfortunately there is just no way for certain to know 100% if a horse will truly excel in that discipline. With that being said horses can not be ridden or tried. This is because there is no where to ride at the track or the trainer/owners farm NOT because the trainer/owner are hiding anything. This also goes for ‘free jumping’ as there is no where to free jump a horse at the track. The trainer/owners as well as us at Stoney Hollow Stables care where these horses end up so anything known about the horses habits are disclosed. If we do not feel a horse is a fit for what you're looking for we will discuss our concerns with you.
- Horses listed with any known vices or injuries will ALWAYS be disclosed in their ad. Horses listed appear sound at time of jog video and pictures unless otherwise stated. Soundness can not be guaranteed since no exam has been performed by a vet prior to listing. We are NOT vets and we can NOT diagnose or state that a horse is 100% sound. If nothing is disclosed there is no known information regarding the horse or their past history. Please remember that these horses can typically change hands numerous times throughout their career at the track. When a trainer/owner claims a horse in a race at the track this is done so without getting any history or vet records on the horse(s). If you choose to buy a horse "As-Is" you are stating that you understand that we are not liable for any unknown injuries and/or vices or any shipping injuries. Please understand that we represent these horses to the best of our knowledge but we do not own the listed horses (unless otherwise stated in the ad) and we're not vets and cannot guarantee any of the horses listed.
- Horses listed are on a first come first serve basis. Track sales typically move very fast. Trainer/Owners need stalls for new horses coming in so the ones listed need sold ASAP. Horses can not be held for days for you to come see them. If you are able to come in person it is suggested to do so ASAP with a truck and trailer. Once at the track/farm you may see them in their stalls, run your hands over their body/legs and watch them jog inhand.
- Please only ask for shipping quotes if you are committed and ready to purchase at this time.
- Please also only ask for pictures, videos and additional information if you're looking to purchase ASAP. The horses listed likely will not still be available in 1-6 months and it is suggested to check back when you're ready to purchase to see what horses are available at that time.
